SUMMARY:Aerospace Council: Thailand's EEC Initiative - A New Post-Covid Paradigm
DESCRIPTION:Join the AMCHAM Aerospace Council to learn more about the unique nexus and convergence of targeted S-curve industries within Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Our panelists will discuss two of the biggest EEC projects   the "Smart City"   a planned 37 billion US dollars (100 billion baht) project\, and an update of the progress of the U-tapao Airport   a major piece of the EEC's mandate\, along with the Eastern Aviation City.   \n\n\n\nThe Smart City Initiative and U-tapao International Airport Aviation Development concepts are leading the way in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) projects with modern\, innovative\, and relevant technologies and processes   all driven by the "Best and Brightest" within these respective industries and leveraging the location's unique geographic placement within Asia.   \n\n\n\nThe EEC aims to bring innovation to improve the quality of living\, through its "Smarts" solutions   the overall plan is to create a "Livable Smart City" for its residents and investors where technological integration\, low carbon emission\, a circular economy\, and access to good public healthcare and education will not only create an environment suited for innovation\, but also for sustainable living.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\n\n\nDr. Natthawat Hongkarnjanakul\, Director of Space Technology Development Office\, Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA)\, Thailand. He is responsible for building up the Space Ecosystem in Thailand through research and industry. Natthawat started his career in GISTDA as a research engineer and innovation development specialist. He pioneered the aerospace mechanics field in GISTDA and founded the aerospace structures and materials unit. Many innovation projects allowed him to explore big challenges and gaps of space industry\, research\, academic and policy in Thailand\, for example\, satellite manufacturing\, GNSS and space data utilization\, and space science. Currently\, he has essential roles to strategically scale up the space technology activities of GISTDA and Thailand to the region.\n\n\n\nNatthawat obtained his PhD from the Institut sup rieur de l'a ronautique et de l'espace (ISAE-Supa ro)\, Toulouse\, France. His specialization is aerospace structural mechanics focusing on composite simulation and testing. This really enables him to leverage the space economy in Thailand.
