DESCRIPTION:Calling all U.S. citizens in Thailand!\n\n\n\nAMCHAM is delighted to host Deputy American Citizen Services (ACS) Chief Katherine Pettersson\, Vice Consul Jonathan Collett\, and Vice Consul Jared Brown to speak about voting in the upcoming U.S. election as well as other support that the Embassy can provide to U.S. citizens while living and traveling abroad.  \n\n\n\nVoting is now easier than ever before and US citizens can receive an absentee ballot by email\, fax\, or internet download\, depending on the state they are eligible to vote in. In the first half of the webinar\, our speakers will walk you through everything you need to know to make certain your voice is heard in the 2024 U.S. elections\, no matter where in the world you may be.\n\n\n\nFor the second half of the webinar\, our speakers will share more information about the range of work that ACS performs on behalf of the U.S. citizens on a daily basis.\n\n\n\nDon't miss this opportunity to ensure that your vote is cast in the 2024 U.S. elections and learn more about the services and resources available to you through the U.S. Embassy\n\n\n\nAbout the Speakers:\n\nKatherine Pettersson is a career Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State.  She currently serves as the Deputy American Citizen Services (ACS) Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok\, where she supervises a team of 22 staff who provide a full range of consular services to U.S. citizens in Thailand.  Prior to joining the State Department\, Katherine practiced as a lawyer in London in the fields of litigation and insolvency.  Katherine received degrees in Law\, German\, and English Literature from the University of Victoria\, Wellington\, New Zealand and is a Member of the New Zealand Bar.  Katherine speaks German\, Mandarin Chinese\, and Thai.\n\n\n\nJonathan Collett is a career Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy's Voting Assistance Officer. He currently serves as a Vice Consul in the American Citizens Services Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok.  Prior to joining the Consular Section in Bangkok\, Jonathan worked as a Public Diplomacy Strategist in the State Department's Bureau of Democracy\, Human Rights\, and Labor and as a Youth Development Peace Corps Volunteer in Ancash\, Peru. Jonathan speaks Spanish and Thai.\n\n\n\nJared Brown is currently a Vice Consul serving in the American Citizens Services Unit at U.S. Embassy\, Bangkok.  Prior to joining the Consular Section\, Jared worked as an English Program Coordinator in Tianjin\, China where he also received his bachelor's in teaching Chinese to non-native Chinese speakers and as a volunteer with the International Language Program in Moscow\, Russia and Nanjing\, China.  Jared speaks Mandarin and Russian.
