DESCRIPTION:AMCHAM is pleased to welcome the Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI) and leaders of the Board of Trade (BOT) to join AMCHAM in an invigorating discussion on the future of foreign direct investment in Thailand\, and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.\n\n\n\nSanan Angubolkul\, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and BOT will lead with a keynote speech before handing over to a panel discussion with Secretary-General Narit Therdsteerasukdi of the BOI\; Vice-Chairman Kasemsit Pathomsak of the BOT\; and Ornkanya (Mook) Pibuldham\, President of AMCHAM Thailand\, moderated by Shawn Crispin of the Asia times.\n\n\n\nThis evening promises to provide key insights as well as an opportunity to network across three organizations who represent different member companies and government stakeholders\, but share the same goal of fostering ease of doing business and strengthening FDI into the Kingdom.\n\nOur Speakers & Moderator:\n\nSanan Angubolkul\, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand and Chairma of Srithai Superware PCL. Sanan is a successful businessman who owns and manages multiple large companies\, including Kiatnakin Phatra Bank\, and The Erawan group of hotels. During his tenure as Chairman of TCC\, he introduced the "Connect the Dots" policy to revitalize Thailand's economy by fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors\, as well as individuals\, to drive economic growth.\n\n\n\nNarit Therdsteerasukdi\, Secretary-General\, The Board of Investment. Narit was appointed Secretary-General of the BOI in October 2022. He started his career with the BOI in 1995 and worked in various divisions under the BOI such as the Investment Service Center\, International Affairs Division\, and Planning and Development Division. In his position at the BOI\, he was appointed to be Deputy Director of One Tambon\, One Product (OTOP) Program Coordination Office under the Prime Minister?s Office as well as Head of the Secretariat of Economic Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister in the early 2000s.\n\n \n\nKasemsit Pathomsak\, Vice Chairman\, the Board of Trade of Thailand. He has previously served as the Executive Director of the APEC CEO Summit 2022 and as an Alternate Member of the APEC Business Advisory Council Thailand. He is also the Executive Chairman of Merchant Partners Limited\, a financial holding company in Merchant Partners Asset Management. Kasemsit is a strong advocate for BOT and plays a key role in supporting foreign chambers of commerce in Thailand.\n\n \n\nOrnkanya (Mook) Pibuldham\, President\, AMCHAM Thailand\, and Managing Director and Thailand Country Head of Bank of America. With more than 20 years in the banking industry\, she has extensive knowledge across the spectrum of banking products and services. She has established excellent relationships with major SET 100 companies\, multi-national companies\, and financial institutions. With her deep understanding of Thai markets her role includes defining and introducing the right strategy in order to ensure firm success. In addition to her role as the President of AMCHAM\, Mook is the Director of Thai Energy Foundation and a member of Thailand National Strategic Committee.\n\n \n\nShawn Crispin. Southeast Asia Editor\, Asia Times. Shawn has worked as a journalist and editor based in Thailand for the past 20 years\, serving previously as Bangkok bureau chief for the Far Eastern Economic Review and Asian Wall Street Journal and contributing editor to The Diplomat. He has also served as Senior Southeast Asia Representative to the Committee to Protect Journalists\, a New York-based press freedom advocacy organization. He received a master?s degree in Southeast Asian Studies and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C.
