SUMMARY:Manufacturing Committee: A New Beginning - Circular Economy for Manufacturing on the Eastern Seaboard
DESCRIPTION:How can we design out waste and pollution from the economic system?\n\n\n\nIn our current economy\, we utilize resources\, manufacture products\, and discard them as waste in a linear process. With the transition to a circular economy\, we minimize the production of waste through thoughtful design\, careful selection of materials\, application of efficient processes\, repair/reuse of products\, and recycling of materials at the end of life\, thereby creating further value.\n\n\n\nJoin us for a discussion on how manufacturers in Thailand can help tackle global challenges including climate change\, waste\, and pollution through the circular economy approach.\n\n\n\nThe presentation will draw upon ERM's recent work on the development of the circular economy approach for the Thailand Eastern Economic Corridor.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speakers\n\n\n\nSteven Duckworth: Senior Partner\, Asia Pacific\, ERM: Environmental Resources Management. Steve has more than 30 years of experience in Sustainability Consulting and Waste Management\, including more than 27 years advising clients in Thailand and the Asian region.\n\n\n\nYulia Dobrolyubova: Partner\, Sustainability and Climate Change\, ERM. Yulia has 17 years' experience working with national and city governments\, as well as companies in the energy\, cement\, steel\, textile and apparel\, automotive\, chemical and pharmaceutical\, consumer goods\, financial\, and other sectors helping her clients design GHG mitigation and climate adaptation strategies.
