Akanat Promphan\, Minister of Industry\, as distinguished keynote speaker for our June member luncheon. \n\n\n\nThe Ministry of Industry plays a crucial role in promoting Thai competitiveness in the global arena\, establishing an industrial ecosystem to foster Thailand 4.0\, and promoting sustainable industrial business models for economic growth.\n\n\n\nMinister Akanat will provide updates on the Ministry's policies and mid- and long-term goals. Please join us to hear critical insights on Thailand's industrial transformation strategy\, and the government's vision for enhancing the country's competitiveness on the global stage. \n\n\n\nThe event will also be an opportunity to meet our AMCHAM Thailand Foundation scholarship recipients graduating in the 2024 2025 academic year.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n \n\nH.E. Akanat Promphan was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 2011\, becoming the youngest elected MP at just 25 years of age. His other roles have included Secretary-General of the United Thai Party (UNTP)\; Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education\, Science\, Research and Innovation (MHESRI)\; and roles on numerous parlimentary committees and subcommittees. In 2024\, he was appointed Minister of Industry by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.  Akanat holds an M.A and B.A. in Engineering\, Economics and Management (EEM)\, with honors\, from the University of Oxford.
