SUMMARY:Roundtable Meeting with The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration\, Industry & Analysis Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OICT)
DESCRIPTION:AMCHAM is honored to meet with the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration\, Industry & Analysis Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OICT). The OICT is planning a trip to Southeast Asia in September 2024 to support semiconductor priorities. Nine Indo-Pacific countries (besides the United States) have a presence in the backend assembly\, test\, and packaging (ATP) segment of the semiconductor supply chain. The office aims to learn more about Thailand's existing semiconductor ecosystem.\n\n\n\nAMCHAM will be represented by Vice President Charles Blocker.\n\n\n\nAMCHAM maintains ongoing dialogue with key U.S. and Thai Government agencies to promote our common goals of fostering a robust business environment in the Kingdom and increasing Thailand's competitiveness at a regional and global level. \n\n \n\nAMCHAM's policy priorities are developed through our working group councils\, open to all members for participation. All policy positions taken forward through AMCHAM channels must represent a significant group of members and receive final approval from the Board of Governors. In addition to our core Five to Thrive initiative to stimulate economic growth and attract investment\, we have also engaged with the government with emerging legislation concerning digital platforms\, sustainability initiatives\, promotion of healthcare innovation\, and more.\n\n \n\nTo learn more about AMCHAM's policy positions\, please click here.
