He will also touch Thailand's Long-Term Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy and the new National Determined Contributions that the government has pledged at COP26.\n\n\n\nOur Speaker:\n\nDr. Wijarn Simachaya\, President of Thai Environment Institute\, the Secretary-General of Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD)\, a Chairman of PPP Plastics.\n\n\n\nDr. Wijarn is a former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director General of Pollution Control Department of Thailand. He was also a representative of the ministry of various UN\, Sub-regional\, and ASEAN / ASEAN Plus 3 Forums. He has worked as a chairman of circular economy under the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model. \n\n \n\nHe currently works with various public-private agencies\, civil societies and communities on the ground to develop environmental management models for the country\, and moving toward sustainable development. Dr. Wijarn holds Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering from University of Guelph\, Canada in 1990.
