DESCRIPTION:Foreign direct investment (FDI) is a significant component of Thailand's economic growth and development and Thailand is one of the major FDI destinations in the region. The Office of the Board of Investment (BOI) is responsible for promoting both FDI and overseas investment by Thai companies. Many AMCHAM members are BOI promoted companies. We look forward to hearing directly from the Secretary General how BOI is prepared to partner with businesses to overcome difficulties and challenges posed by the global pandemic and enhance foreign investment for Thailand's resilience.\n\n \n\nPlease join us for a candid discussion with Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit\, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) to hear about the latest update on investment privileges and incentives and how the BOI can assist businesses during the recovery process.\n\n\n\nAbout Speaker\n\nMs. Duangjai Asawachintachit\, was appointed Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) in October 2017 after having served as Deputy Secretary General for seven years\, and as Assistant Secretary General for two years.\n\n \n\nShe first joined the BOI in 1984\, working in the Project Development Division. Between 1987 and 1989\, she took a leave of absence to pursue her Master's degree. Upon her return\, she was in the International Affairs division\, where she became the Chief of the North American and Multilateral Affairs Section\, and later the Chief of the Thai Overseas Investment Unit. In 1998\, she was promoted to Assistant Director of the International Affairs Division\, and in 2000\, became Director of the BOI's Paris Office where she was responsible for attracting inward investment from Portugal\, Spain\, Switzerland\, France and the Benelux countries. She was Director of the BOI's Investment Marketing Bureau from 2005 until 2008.
